The Heron, also known as the Bittern and Egret, beautiful and graceful with its long legs, long neck and long beak. A non-swimming waterbird that feeds on the margins of lakes, rivers, swamps, ponds and the sea. Heron symbolism includes good luck and prosperity, tranquillity, serenity, elegance, and grace. It is a bird that has many wonderful and interesting references in history, mythology, religion, folklore and artworks.
This sculpture would be delightful situated near or in a pond, or on the banks of a watercourse - places where a Heron would naturally be found. If you are unable to or don't have a pond, the Heron could be placed amongst reedy, grassy plants, giving the illusion of a waterway or marshland. It can be secured firmly with three stakes (provided). The Heron really will look lovely in any garden and add an air of tranquillity and peace.
